Our story
Built for the Hmong community, by the Hmong community
We believe Hmong-owned businesses deserve to be found, celebrated, and supported. This directory is our way of making that happen.
Our mission
The Hmong Business Directory USA was founded with a single purpose: to connect Hmong entrepreneurs with the customers who want to support them. Across the United States, thousands of Hmong-owned businesses operate in every industry — from restaurants and retail shops to law firms, salons, and home services.
Yet too many of these businesses remain invisible to the broader community, buried beneath larger competitors with bigger marketing budgets. We built this platform to change that — giving every Hmong business owner a place to stand out, tell their story, and grow.
Community first
Every feature we build starts with one question: does this help Hmong business owners thrive?
Trust & authenticity
Every listing is a real Hmong-owned business. We verify and maintain the quality of our directory.
Economic empowerment
We measure our success by the growth of the businesses listed here — not just our own metrics.
Cultural pride
We celebrate Hmong heritage, resilience, and entrepreneurship in everything we do.
How it started
The idea for this directory grew out of a simple frustration: when Hmong community members wanted to support Hmong-owned businesses, there was no easy way to find them. Word of mouth only goes so far.
We started with a small list of businesses in Minnesota — the heart of the Hmong-American community — and quickly realized the need stretched across the country. Today, our directory spans 25+ states and continues to grow every week.
We are proud to be a Hmong-led organization, and we remain committed to keeping this platform affordable, accessible, and genuinely useful for business owners at every stage of their journey.

The Hmong people have one of the most remarkable stories of adaptation and perseverance in American history. Arriving largely as refugees following the Vietnam War era, Hmong families rebuilt their lives across the United States — in Minnesota, California, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and beyond.
Within a generation, Hmong Americans became business owners, professionals, elected officials, and community leaders. Today, Hmong-owned businesses contribute billions of dollars to local economies and serve as anchors of cultural identity in their communities.
This directory exists to honor that legacy and to ensure the next generation of Hmong entrepreneurs has every advantage in building their businesses.
